Swansea University is looking to procure a development partner to carry out a further phase of expansion and development works on, or near to, its Bay Campus. The works will comprise the: - construction and delivery of between 20,000 and 30,000 square meters of academic development, and ancillary retail and support facilities located on the Bay Campus; - construction, maintenance and operation of a minimum of six hundred (600) (and a maximum of fifteen hundred (1500)) accommodation units either on, or near to, the Bay Campus; and - potential construction and delivery of additional ancillary student space, welfare facilities and place-making such as (but not limited to) sports or music facilities. The development partner must be able to provide a relevant site for the student accommodation, which must be within a 3km radius of the Bay Campus to ensure easy access for students who will primarily access the Bay Campus on foot. Swansea University is looking to procure a development partner to carry out an expansion and development works on, or near to, its Bay Campus. The works will comprise the construction of Academic Facilities envisaged to be over two sites on the Bay Campus to support the movement of certain departments from Singleton Campus to the new Bay Campus. One of the facilities to be developed is likely to house the relocated School of Law and include commercial space. The second may include accommodation for visiting academics. The total requirement will be for between 20,000 and 30,000 square metres and should include retail and other ancillary facilities. The works also comprise the construction of between 600 and 1500 units of student accommodation. These units are required on or near to the Bay Campus to support the additional students who will be taught on site. The development partner must be able to provide a relevant site for the student accommodation which must be within a 3km radius of the Bay Campus. The works also comprise the potential construction and delivery of additional ancillary student space, welfare facilities and place-making such as (but not limited to) sports or music facilities. The development partner will be expected to design and build the academic facilities and, if required, also the additional ancillary space, and to design, build, finance, maintain, and operate the student accommodation. The University's Memorandum of Information sets out its detailed requirements.
