Tender description
Contract to provide an Account Based Ticketing Solution which was let under two Lots, Lot 1 - Account Based Ticketing Solution and Lot 2 - Handheld Devices. The purpose of the contract is to provide the following: • A 'token agnostic' ABT solution which will support journey 'taps' from EMV and ITSO will be procured. • Improving customer journeys by modernising ticketing, offering improved accessibility, flexibility, and best value fares; • Enabling integration with other transport operators across multiple modes within the Liverpool City Region; • Supporting changes adopted through the multi operator zonal review; • Introducing a financially sustainable solution that makes best use of existing infrastructure and recent investments, including PVALs and the Smart Metro Portal; • Help protect and grow revenue; and • Adopt a sustainable retail solution that aligns with local and national ticketing strategies Lot 1: Account Based Ticketing Solution Merseyrail are working in close partnership with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) to transform customer journeys so that customers can benefit from a pay as you go (PAYG) Account Based Ticketing system (ABTS). This aligns with the 'London style ticketing' which is a vision endorsed by Merseyrail and the Metro Mayer of the Liverpool City Region. Lot 1 consists of the provision of account based ticketing software using ITSO, EMV and Barcode. Lot 2: Handheld Devices Account Based Ticket enable handheld devices that will be used to collect passenger 'taps' whilst on the network. The 'tap' will be sent to the Account Based Ticketing Solution which will determine appropriate course of action. Devices will be used n varied working conditions including, on board trains and at stations.
