Design Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)

Tender description

Eden District Council is seeking bids from suitably qualified and experienced consultants to prepare a Design SPD, compliant with the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), Planning Practice Guidance (PPG), National Design Guide (PPG) and the National Model Design Code. The Design SPD should also take into consideration the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill as its progresses through Parliament. This will support the preparation of planning policies and ensure that the cumulative impact from different policy requirements remain realistic and do not undermine the ability to secure high quality design in development proposals and supports both the adopted local plan and any other emerging planning policy coming forward in the local plan review. It should be noted that Eden Local Planning Authority does not cover parts of the District lying within the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks extending into the Eden District. Bids should comply with the specification in Schedule 1.
