Tender description

Tender For Thinning And Felling Of Scots Pine Plantation With Timber Extracted The RSPB Abernethy Reserve is located in Strathspey, near to Nethy Bridge. The Reserve comprises over 5000ha of remnant Caledonian pine forest including 1600ha of Scots Pine Plantation. The plantation area is managed primarily to return it to a forest of more natural character over a 200 year period, this includes a combination of; leaving areas to self-thin; creating dead wood; thinning; felling, and; timber extraction. Craigmore Wood lies to the Northern end of the reserve and is a 570ha of Pine forest, mostly plantation. This tender refers to a 92ha area of Scots pine plantation in the South East corner of Craigmore Wood.
