TUD - Provision of Bioeconomy Equipment 4 Lots

TU Dublin are seeking tenders for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Commissioning & Calibration of Bioeconomy Equipment. This Competition is divided into 4 Lots. Suppliers may tender for individual or multiple lots. • Lot 1 Growth Chamber suitable for the growth of photosynthetic cells (microalgae). The chamber will be capable of holding a number of flasks simultaneously (e.g. erlenmeyer), the environment will support the growth of photosynthetic cells in each flask through the provision of light, temperature, gas introduction, gas scrubbing, humidification and dehumidification. • Lot 2 Bioreactor. The reactor will be suitable for (i) growth of cells (ii) fermentation/enzymes hydrolysis reactions where precise control of the conditions is required. The bioreactor will be a benchtop model with the ability to measure pH, dissolved O2/CO2, temperature while also allowing for the introduction of materials and sample extraction. The system will have a software programme to allow accurate monitoring of the variables and process. • Lot 3 Microfiltration unit – lab scale. The unit will be used for the separation of a series of food grade and biological materials. Microfiltration and ultrafiltration capabilities are required while nanofiltration would be desirable. A unit that only requires small volumes is desirable and the ability to easily swap membranes and chose from a wide selection of membranes is an advantage. • Lot 4 an Injection Moulding System. The equipment will used to develop a series of new materials from biological resources in line with the bioeconomy e.g. bioplastic. The specimen developed will need to be consistently molded into a set shape to allow for testing of mechanical and physical properties.
