Targeted Community Physical Activity Programme Two (Lots 1-3)

<p>The pandemic has had a significant impact on many areas of our lives, including our level of physical activity. National evidence suggests that participation in physical activity has declined over the pandemic. This is also the case in Blackburn with Darwen (BwD) where the proportion of physically active residents declined from 61.6% in 2018/19 to 49.4% in 2019/20. BwD now has the lowest proportion of active residents of any local authority in the North West. To support the recovery of residents and the borough from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Council is re-introducing a programme of free activities within its own leisure facilities. In addition to these sessions, the Public Health team are now exploring opportunities to expand this offer into other community-based facilities across BwD. This is based under three lots: Lot 1 - Indoor or Outdoor Court Based Physical Activity Lot 2 - Indoor or Outdoor Group Fitness Classes Lot 3 - Gym Based Activity We are looking for local community-based physical activity facilities who are interested in delivering free exercise sessions. This is a re advertisement of the original expression of interest published in April/May 2022 for which some lots have been awarded.</p> Keywords: Physical Activity
