LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature seeks tenders for a consultant ecologist to provide support to the project ecologist and to the broader project team.

Tender description

The consultant ecologist will assist in the development of a high-level scientific framework for the project, which will detail the design of monitoring assessments required to determine the impact & effectiveness of the project actions and inform the intervention and monitoring approach the project takes. They will be involved in all ecological aspects of the project including literature review, experimental design, fieldwork, monitoring, data handling and analysis, evaluation, GIS mapping, reporting and communications with stakeholders. Although blanket bog and peatland habitats are a focus of LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature, consultants with other ecological disciplines, such as freshwater ecologists, may be suitable for this contract. The consultant ecologist will work with, and be supported by, the LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature team whose role includes administrative, IT and mapping, communication, dissemination and exploitation of results, and agri-environment expertise. The contractor may be required from time to time to engage in community outreach activities such as presentations at events, preparation of communication and dissemination materials or assistance with grant proposals. It is expected that the contractor will be available as a 75% to 100% (full-time) equivalent.
