Evaluation of HMYOI Wetherby, SOS+ and IDVA in the Control Room

Tender description

The proposed impact evaluations will advance our understanding of these programmes and will then be used to inform and improve future implementation and delivery of these ongoing projects, ensuring the appropriate allocation and use of future VRU funding. The VRU funds an IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocate) through Leeds Domestic Violence Service to be placed in the control room at Elland Road police station, with the aim of providing support to domestic violence victims at an early stage. IDVAs provide a range of support, including immediate crisis or safety advice, legal advice and advocacy on a range of issues within family and criminal law. The VRU funds a programme of violence reduction workshops (SOS+) at HMYOI Wetherby facilitated by adults with lived experience of criminal activity. The funded activities are designed to assist young people in addressing factors that may contribute to violent behaviour.
