Tender description

Welsh Government require an innovative Programme to support the farming industry in delivering greater sustainability, Improved competitiveness, and improved environmental performance in line with Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS) and Programme for Government objectives. The Welsh Government Knowledge Transfer Programme 2 year contract (with possible 12months extension) will commence in April 2023. Lot 1: Farming Connect Knowledge Transfer Farming Connect Knowledge Transfer - To deliver an innovative knowledge transfer programme to support the farming industry in delivering greater sustainability, improved competitiveness, and improved environmental performance for farming businesses in line with SFS objectives. Lot 2: Farming Connect Lifelong Learning and Development Farming Connect Lifelong Learning and Development - To deliver a more professional industry through its support for continuous professional development, action learning, mentoring, accredited training, e-learning and clear focus on personal development. Lot 3: Farming Connect Management and Co-ordination of the Advisory Service Farming Connect Management and Co-ordination of the Advisory Service - To set up and deliver a framework Advisory Service to provide integrated advice across a broad range of specialist technical and business management areas tailored to meet individual business needs. Lot 4: Farming Connect Service Centre Farming Connect Service Centre - To establish and manage a Service Centre which will act as the main point of contact for all customers to register and promote all activities and services across the Farming Connect programme. Lot 5: Farming Connect Knowledge Transfer Dissemination and Events Farming Connect Knowledge Transfer Dissemination and Events - To deliver an innovative programme of activity and events for the benefit of the farming sector in Wales to support farming businesses to transition to the Sustainable Farming Scheme. Lot 6: Farming Connect Welsh Sheep Genetics Farming Connect Welsh Sheep Genetics – To develop an innovative programme of activity suitable to support the needs of the Welsh sheep sector. Working with businesses in identifying their current baseline performance, identify the KPI’s for the businesses, and create an action plan with clear recommendations to improve Welsh Sheep Genetics. Lot 7: Farming Connect Horticulture Support Farming Connect Horticulture Support - To develop and deliver a support service for commercial horticulturalists in Wales whilst facilitating collaboration between producers and processors to improve the viability of supply chains.
