RFI - land Conditions Assessment (Request for Information)

Tender description

This RFI is a general market enquiry to identify and engage with service providers who can deliver a bespoke service comprising three elements: a) High Resolution survey of NI Water landholdings - A supplier to undertake a bespoke aerial survey to provide detailed coverage of catchment areas and NI Water landholdings. This can be done using satellite, LiDAR or other high resolution imagery method. The detailed survey will highlight land use, pollution risks, hydrology and land management issues and can provide an evidence base to identify potential opportunities for mitigation factors to be introduced. b) Baseline Biodiversity/Ecological Surveys - Areas identified for projects to improve land management should be have detailed baseline ecology/biodiversity surveys completed. Baseline surveys will enable future monitoring of the biodiversity benefits of sustainable intervention measures. c) Baseline Carbon assessment – This will involve mapping all land uses, soil types, vegetation or other relevant parameters to assess the carbon stocks and sequestration factors of our lands. Carbon stocks on the land when the project starts, often referred to as the base year, can then be used on an ongoing basis to demonstrate how NI Water land improvement activities positively impact carbon stocks.
