Tender description
NRW is seeking to award a contract for the supply of a High Performance Two-dimensional Liquid Chromatograph with Time of Flight Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (2D LC QTOF-MS). The equipment will be used for analysing a range of environmental matrices including waters (freshwater, groundwater, treated effluents) soils, sediments, passive sampler extracts and associated materials after appropriate extraction and pre-treatment. The sample extracts will be examined for a wide range of compounds to comply with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive plus other environmental directives. NRW is seeking to award a contract for the supply of a High Performance Two-dimensional Liquid Chromatograph with Time of Flight Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (2D LC QTOF-MS). NRW has a statutory obligation need to analyse various organic compounds to the requirements set out in the European Union’s Water Framework Directive (WFD); specifically achieving the prescribed environmental quality standards as listed in Directives 2008/105/EC, 2013/39 and 2015/495. Aspects of these requirements are to undertake investigative monitoring employing advanced screening techniques including LC QTOF-MS. The purpose of the requirement is to analyse various organic compounds to the requirements set out in the European Union’s Water Framework Directive (WFD); specifically, directives 2008/105/EC, 2013/39 and 2015/495. In addition, the instrument will be used to analyse samples taken as part of NRW’s investigative monitoring program including passive sampling and pollution samples.
