Tender description
The National Railway Museum wishes to appoint an agency to produce the creative marketing campaign identity for Wonderlab: The Bramall Gallery (hereafter known as Wonderlab). Wonderlab is part of an ambitious transformation the National Railway Museum will be embarking on, termed Vision 2025, to become a global engineering powerhouse and a reinvented, inspiring 21st century attraction. This transformation will position the museum as the cultural heart of York Central, a huge redevelopment project with Network Rail, City of York Council and Homes England to create a vibrant neighbourhood with homes, shops and cultural spaces. Wonderlab will be a new area especially made for families to inspire children to think like engineers. There will be 17+ interactive exhibits that inspire creativity, experimentation and finding solutions to the challenges of the future. It's a playful workshop of movement and energy that celebrates the inventiveness and wonder of engineering, science and the railways. The space will also contain 2 art commissions created by two leading British artists. The space will be created by architects De Matos Ryan and with graphic design provided by Lucienne Roberts. The space will open May 2023 and be 1500 square foot, a vast scale with cutting-edge interactives designed to inspire experimentation and finding solutions for challenges. Wonderlab is the new home of inspiring engineering. The place where curious minds come to feel the science that makes things go. It's a playful workshop of movement and energy that celebrates the inventiveness and wonder of engineering, science and the railways. We're building an interactive gallery where visitors will take the first steps on their journeys of creativity, experimentation and finding solutions to the challenges of the future.
