Installation of New HV Electrical Supply to Norfolk Terrace

Tender description

For the Supply and Installation of a new HV Electrical Supply from Sciences Sub Station to Norfolk Terrace to replace the current aged system. It has been identified to enable the asbestos strip to be undertaken within Norfolk C Plant room, the existing aged cable / panel needs removing / reinstating. Due to the high risk of the existing cable of becoming an inherent fault once touched due to its age and construction, there is a high risk that should any fault in the cable become apparent, it would not be able to be repaired and would require replacement. The time required to do this would make the Norfolk Terrace totally or part thereof not available for let. To mitigate against this risk, it has been decided to commence the upgrade of the Electrical supply to Norfolk Terrace commencing with the a new mains feed to Norfolk A and sub main to C Block. All other blocks are to be re-fed when they are refurbished. The new Electrical Panels are on an 8 week lead time from agreement of the design, therefore end August delivery, Norfolk Terrace C blocks needs to be available for occupation w/c 5th September, so that loss of income is not incurred.
