High Rise 20 storey Residential Tower Block Soil Vent Pipe (SVP's) Condition Report and Works located at Southchurch Court Clifton Nottingham NG11 8HQ

This 20 storey residential Tower Block, was constructed 1969. The building comprises a total number of 130 flats. There is 1 flat on ground, 7 flats floor 1-16, 6 flats floor 17, 5 flats on floor 18, 4 flats floor 19 and 2 flats on floor 20. The original cast iron drainage pipes are serving kitchens and bathrooms. The building has 7 (seven) main SVPs which are 6” diameter. Single flats are connecting into each stack on every floor. These stacks are accessed from either side via panels beside toilets or at the end of the baths. NCH maintenance teams report ongoing issues and leaks and other maintenance and upgrade works are being scoped. and being scheduled to commence within the building and therefore consideration is being given to include SVPs works during this works programme. The Contract will be to provide a detailed surveys of the condition of SVP's which will include ultrasonic readings of the pipe thickness and evidence of any leaks around all of the pipework. On completion of the survey the contractor will provide a detailed report and work specifications with recommendations to make the SVP's serviceable together with an indication of how long the works would be could for? It is a mandatory requirement to attend site to view the work areas and NCH will make arrangements accordingly with the Project management team and Building Services manager Service manager. We envisage that the outcomes of the Survey contract work will provide a number of options and and Specification's and these will be used as part of the Tender process for the remedial works. Depending on the options provided from the survey, NCH will not be bound to enter into any further contract with the Surveying Company to provide the remedial services.
