These purchases are to match existing machinery EMCO CM105 giving us 2 x mills and 2 x lathes, and they are going to be implemented into the engineering Applications workshops teaching/training activities that all 1st year M3 students have to attend. The software package unique to this system offers the option of an Interchangeable Industrial control interface or a simplified Teaching interface developed by EMCO, with teaching resources. This is available as a distributable site license at modest cost (this may be required in future.) Having a small footprint means that this device can be integrated into existing workshop teaching spaces without need for major reconfiguration.
