<p>The Merseyway Innovation Centre is part of the wider development of the Merseyway Shopping Centre aiming to provide shared working space that will repurpose vacant upper retail floorspace within Stockport town centre to provide a centrally located business innovation centre. The centre will offer flexible serviced office and co-working accommodation for new start and small businesses, including; ? Business lounge- meeting area for customers and guests of the centre, providing opportunities for collaboration and development of the MIC business community ? Co-working space &ndash; bookable desks for small and micro-businesses or individuals working remotely. A first step for some in growing their new business. ? Starter business units &ndash; either shared offices or individual offices with between one and four desks per office. Aimed at new start/young businesses requiring &ldquo;incubation&rdquo; space and support. ? Grow on space &ndash; aimed at more established businesses with between 4 and 10 employees. ? Meeting rooms ? Space for a diagnostic business support service, this will involve &lsquo;one to one&rsquo; and &lsquo;one to many&rsquo; opportunities for support in the form of workshops and events. In addition to this, external works are proposed to create a more inviting fa&ccedil;ade. The design is now at completed Stage 4. Building Control is procured, and their review is underway. Likewise planning consent has been obtained for the scheme, an NMA is underway to facilitate changes made in the design development.
