Electronic Respiratory Rate Monitoring for early detection of patient deterioration with COVID Lot 1: Given the large and increasing numbers in early 2021 of staff absenteeism coinciding with a large influx of ill patients with respiratory disease (COVID-19), this solution has multiple advantages 1. More reliable monitor 2. Off –loading clinical workload, freeing staff for priority work 3. Reducing patient contact supporting infection prevention and control 4. Early warning for deterioration. Picking up deterioration early provides the opportunity for timely intervention which will optimise patient outcome.
