Carbon Baseline and ‘Smart’ Carbon Reduction Target for Activities and Operations Relating to SLWP Services

<p>The boroughs of the South London Waste Partnership (Kingston, Sutton, Merton and Croydon) work together in order to provide improved and more cost-effective waste management services to their residents. The SLWP Transformation Programme is working towards the production of a Joint Waste Strategy and the aim of that strategy is to: - reduce our carbon footprint, - reduce waste and maximise recycling, and - utilise the partnership&rsquo;s combined assets and scale to develop optimised, cost effective, waste management solutions. To inform this important work, Kingston Council, acting on behalf of the four SLWP boroughs, is inviting suitably qualified and experienced consultants to submit written quotes to establish an accurate and robust carbon baseline and set &lsquo;SMART&rsquo; carbon reduction targets for a range of SLWP activities and operations including recycling and waste collections, transfer station operations and Household Reuse and Recycling Centres (HRRC).</p> Keywords: Carbon Project
