Tender description
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Ireland operates the National Radiation Monitoring Network (NRMN) as part of its responsibility to implement the National Plan for Nuclear and Radiological Emergency Exposures and to report monitoring data for ionising radiation to international radiological notification systems such as the European Radiological Data Exchange Platform (EURDEP) and the Unified System for Information Exchange in Incidents and Emergencies (USIE). The NRMN performs radioactive aerosol monitoring and currently has 6 low volume (8 m3/h) aerosol samplers and 5 low volume (3.5 m3/h) alpha and beta monitors. The NRMN plans to include aerosol monitoring capabilities at all radiation monitoring sites see Appendix 1 for site locations. Some of the radiation monitoring sites will include both a low volume aerosol sampler and a low volume alpha and beta monitor. The NRMN aims to establish new NRMN stations over the next four years.
