Tender description

In September 2021 a six month contract was set up and awarded to Refugee Action to provide wraparound support to Afghan refugees in a bridging hotel in Liverpool for up to 6 months as part of the UK government's ARAP and ACRS schemes. The Home Office provides LA's with a tariff funding for the hotel and those resettled in Liverpool and a Statement of Requirements to be fulfilled. There are currently 270 people in the Afghan hotel and 63 Afghan people in resettlement support, with a further 20 people due to be moved into accommodation and will require resettlement support in before the end of September. A Cabinet Report for permission to procure has been approved and a procurement exercise is now underway, the new contract will include UKRS and the Afghan and Ukraine resettlement and wraparound support that have been established recently. The new contract is expected to begin in October 2022, meaning there will be a six month gap without a contract in place. The provision of refugee resettlement is a specialist service.
