Urban Design and Masterplanning consultancy services for An Urban Design and Regeneration Framework Plan for lands located in Athlone, Co. Westmeath

Tender description

Westmeath County Council requires Urban Design and Regeneration Masterplanning Consultancy Services for an Urban Design and Regeneration Framework Plan, to prioritise and plan for ‘pipeline’ projects which will provide for a compact and smart growth-based approach to Athlone’s future development in accordance with the vision conceived as part of Project Ireland 2040. The Athlone Urban Design & Regeneration Framework Plan is to be visionary, ambitious, and creative in the design of new propositions for Athlone’s urban core area and emerging Tourism and Cultural Quarter to the west of the town. The Plan is to fully embrace the power of urban design and architecture in re-imagining the plan area so that it can ultimately realise its full potential as a designated Regional Growth Centre through the guidance of a ‘Visionary and Placemaking Strategy’ supported with innovative best practice ‘Urban Design Principles’ and ‘Backlands Strategy’. The scope of services sought requires multi-disciplinary specialist consultancy services, consisting of all services necessary or desirable for the purposeful delivery of an Urban Design and Regeneration Framework Plan for Athlone as described within this document and the attached Tender and Schedule, and other Request for Tender (RFT) documents. The Project Team will include all specialist services, necessary or desirable, to manage both stages (i) and (ii) in the delivery of an “Urban Design and Regeneration Framework Plan for Athlone, Co. Westmeath”.
