Sample preparation/ liquid handling system and high throughput nucleic acid extractor

Tender description

The sample set-up/liquid handling system will primarily be used for the transfer and tracking of primary or lysed respiratory samples into the input plate for the high throughput extractor. This system must be able to transfer up to 96 samples to the extractor input plate in less than 30 minutes, including setup time. The high throughput extractor will be used initially for the extraction of respiratory samples and must be able to process up to 96 samples in 1 hour or less. The nucleic acid extracts will be tested on the Luminex Magpix NxTAG respiratory pathogen system. In addition the extractor should have the capability of being used for other samples types such as faeces, blood, and CSF. All samples must be tracked by barcode through the processing and the two pieces of equipment should be compatible. There must be different sample input and extract volumes available, preferably with no modification of the equipment to achieve this.
