T ENV21-178 Clooney Terrace Cannon Environmental Improvement Scheme - Contractors PQQ application

Tender description

This Environmental Improvement project focuses primarily on the land situated at the junction of Clooney Terrace and Melrose Terrace which falls within Council's control. The site currently accommodates a historic cannon which has been on display for quite some time and which Council carried out some restoration works to the artefact itself back in 2005. Despite the historical significance of the cannon and the strong community attachment to this historic feature, the site itself is in a poor state of appearance/presentation. This project will see restoration of the canon itself including environmental improvement works on the site. The proposal includes the: • Removal of existing section of wall and railing to create new access to the site • Installation of new boundary treatment on church grounds • Create new opening in existing stone wall from site to church grounds to create a new designated pedestrian access point • Installation of street furniture • Hard and soft landscaping • Conservation of the cannon gun and carriage • Installation of interpretation panel • Feature paving with interpretative text.
