SBC 0222 The Management and Operation Contact for Stevenage Borough Council Leisure and Cultural Facilities

This is a prior information notice and is not being used as a call for competition. Stevenage Borough Council intend to issue a Contract Notice in February 2022 for the procurement of a new contract/contracts for the management of its Leisure, Cultural and Golf Services from 1st April 2023. Having recently developed a new vision and strategic approach for the future delivery of leisure, sport, physical and cultural services across Stevenage, the Council now wish to establish the appropriate management arrangements to support the delivery of this new vision and required strategic outcomes for these services. Lot 1: SBC 0222 The Management and Operation Contract for Stevenage Borough Council Leisure and Cultural Facilities In summary, Lot 1 will be for the management and operation of Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre (including the Gordon Craig Theatre), Stevenage Swimming Centre, Ridlins Athletics Stadium, Outdoor Pitches and Pavilions (bookings only) and maintenance of the Aquapark at Fairlands Valley Park and shall include the development and delivery of a new Active Communities Programme. This Lot will also include the management and operation of a new Leisure and Community Hub Facility which is planned to open in April 2027 and which shall replace Stevenage Swimming Centre and the leisure elements contained within Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre. A Market Interest Day is scheduled for late February/early March which will provide an opportunity for interested parties to visit the facilities in scope, to understand more about the Council’s ambitions for the future delivery of the services and to receive further information on the tender process. Details of timings for the Market Interest Day will be provided in due course. Lot 2: SBC 0222 The Management and Operation of Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre Lot 2 will be for the management and operation of Stevenage Golf and Conference Centre only.A Market Interest Day is scheduled for late February/early March which will provide an opportunity for interested parties to visit the facilities in scope, to understand more about the Council’s ambitions for the future delivery of the services and to receive further information on the tender process.
