IBTS USER REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION FOR PRACTICE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL VIROLOGY AND MEDICAL ADMIN DEPARTMENTS

Tender description

The functions of the medical departments are to: • Manage record and report donor vigilance incidents (DVI). • Record details of confidential donor information received in a clinic or non-clinic setting. This highly confidential information requires an extra level of security as this data is categorised as sensitive personal information under Article 9, of the 2016 General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). • Management of reactive result (MEDV) initial reactive/repeat reactive (IR/RR) found in the IBTS testing laboratories. • Manage the requests received from hospitals for patients who require urgent or routine issue of product, such as cross matched blood, IUT or HLA matched platelets. These patients should each be supplied an identification number on the system. These requests require medical review by the relevant Specialist Medical Officer (SpMO). • Maintain a log for the management of on-call donor queries and subsequent follow up. • Manage issues related to blood products/testing identified during processing. • Manage and record details of the management of antenatal and neonatal patients. • Manage and record salient patient details of the therapeutic apheresis service (TAS
