Evaluation of Experience of Community Engagement in Land Use Decision-Making

We are seeking a contractor to research experiences of landowners and communities of community engagement in land use decision-making. This work will build on previous baseline studies, and will require survey and interview work to explore progress since the first surveys were carried out. The Commission is seeking a contractor to update and re-run surveys for landowners and for communities to understand the progress made in the last two years. The contractor will be expected to identity any opportunities to improve on the methodology whilst ensuring enough consistency to make comparisons. We anticipate that this would include conducting in-depth interviews with a selected number of participants. The objectives for this piece of work are to: -Understand changes in the level of awareness and participation in engagement activities and where possible identify what has created those changes; -Identify further actions SLC or others can undertake to improve awareness and participation in engagement activities; -Improve on the response rate from the previous studies; and -Improve on the diversity of landowners taking part in the survey.
