Bridgend County Borough Council wishes to award this service that will respond to the needs of children, young people and their families with disability related support needs.The service will provide a distinct focus to ensure the specific needs of families with disabilities are provided for.The key elements of the disability support programme will focus on:• Provision of professional advice and guidance on managing the effects of disability on the family• Support for siblings of disabled children and young people to enable them to thrive• Appropriate parenting support that meets the needs of and supports those parents/carers with coping strategies for challenging behaviour• Promoting independence and resilience in the community
