Tender description

The N60 Balla to Claremorris Road Realignment at Heathlawn Project comprises the construction of approx. 3.6km of mainly online upgrade of national secondary road on a section of road commencing 1.5km East of Balla village. The proposed road development includes the following: • Construction of approximately 3.6km of national secondary road with Type 2 single carriageway cross-section including a cycleway outside the Balla town boundary; • Construction of 3 no. at grade ghost island junctions and 2 no. at grade simple junctions; • Construction of various side roads and commercial, domestic and agricultural accesses; • Construction of mainline, side roads and other pavements; • Construction of culverts and associated headwalls including provision of drainage outfalls, soakaways and attenuation ponds; • Construction of a drainage culvert across the N60 & outfall directly adjacent to Balla Turlough (SAC) Special Area of Conservation. • Site clearance works; • Earthworks works; • Drainage works; • Utilities works; • Kerb, footway and greenway works; • Boundary treatment works; • Safety fencing works; • Accommodation works; • Landscape and environmental mitigation works; • Installation of road markings and road studs; • Supply and installation of regulatory, warning and directional road signage; • Design, implementation and removal of temporary traffic management systems; • and various ancillary works.
