Tender description

In order to provide a full range of Occupational Health services for both Dorset Council and its external customers, the Council needs to secure external Occupational Health services to provide Occupational Health physician opinions, determination of ill health pension applications and a range of health surveillance services. Lot 1: The Council proposes to establish a contract for a period of up to 5 years (an initial 3 years plus up to a maximum of 2 additional years) for external occupational health services. The following core services are required: • Pre-placement fitness to work medical assessments • Management referral of complex cases to determine fitness to return to work • Commissioning of external medical reports if/when required • Ill health retirement determinations regarding the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and completion of Teachers Pension Agency ill health application forms • Health surveillance for staff deemed at risk of occupational exposure – the majority of which will be hand/arm vibration medicals and audio testing • Attendance at case conference and/or Employment Tribunal if required • Provide relevant advice and guidance for any emerging health matters to assist the Council in supporting their workforce This opportunity is being tendered as a single lot with the intention of awarding a contract to a single provider.
