Drainage remediation works at GMCA Bredbury Landfill site

Tender description

<p>The site is a former dilute and disperse landfill site and currently houses a domestic waste reception centre and trade and domestic waste processing facility. The waste processing facility is operated for GMCA by a private contractor. Leachate at the site is managed via a basal collection system which consists of collection pipework and leachate chambers / catchpits. The collected leachate then flows to a Methane Stripping Plant (MSP) located to the south of the site where it is treated and discharged to public sewer. The leachate collection drainage network to the north of the site has degraded as the site has matured and remedial works are required to restore its efficiency. The proposed project involves the remediation and replacement of a section of basal leachate drainage system located within the northern area of the landfill site, this includes the renewal of leachate collection pipework and associated leachate chambers and catchpits including the construction of a new intermediated chamber and also repairs to existing carrier pipework.
