NO4218217B - Roof replacement at Outpatients Department, Moyle Hospital

Tender description

There is an urgent need to undertake remedial works to the roof of the Out Patients Building located at Moyle Hospital. The existing roof is coming to the end of it useable life and has suffered from leaks of a number of years. The Current roof construction is predominately of a single layer of ply butyl membrane, laid on roofing felt and timber decking, supported by timber roof joists. There are also small extensions which have butyl membranes with stone ballast or are covered with felt. All roof areas are cold deck roofs which will need upgrading to warm deck to meet Trust energy requirements. The existing roof has areas which have sagged over time leading to ponding which is accelerating the rate of degradation of the roof, new falls will be required. Existing skylights are single glazed and should be replaced, with a rationalisation of their locations. Works will need to be phased to allow the safe occupation of sections of the building throughout the 16 week project.
