Design,submit for planning,appoint contractor and supervise same for construction of new floodlight ,slit & pipe drained rugby pitch

Tender description

The Client intends to construct a new floodlit, pipe and slit drained rugby pitch on the club’s lands at Baile Loisce, Baile na nGall, Co. Chiarraí. While the design of the pitch surface and drainage system is to generally follow the guidance provided in the Irish Rugby Football Union’s (IRFU) publication “Grass Pitches for Rugby”, and in particular Diagram 5 thereof, the Consultant will be responsible for developing a design which suits the particular conditions encountered on the site. The width of the field of play shall be 70m, while the length of the field of play shall be 100m. The lengths of the “in-goal” areas, which shall extend for the width of the field of play stated above, shall be 10m at each end of the proposed pitch. A 5m end and side safety areas (perimeter area) shall be provided along the longitudinal sides of the “field of play” and “in-goal” areas, and beyond the dead ball lines at both ends of the pitch. Fences, lighting columns, dugouts or similar features which could pose a risk to players, officials or team members shall be located outside the perimeter area.
