Cycle ergometer with pedal force measurement

Tender description

Tenderers are sought for the supply, DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) delivery, and installation of a cycle ergometer with pedal force measurement. The electronically braked cycle ergometer is required for the Human Performance Laboratory in the Institiute of Technology Carlow, Ireland. The cycle ergometer will be used in exercise physiology, sport nutrition and human performance practical modules. The ergometer will have workload ranges of 8 – 2500 W, with 1 W increments. There are four workload modes. It can be integrated with other metabolic systems and can be controlled by the on-board controller or via PC. The ergometer will have an adjustable saddle, handlebars and pedals. The ergometer allows for various tests, like a Wingate sprint test, Isokinetic tests, High Intensity Tests (HIT) and time trials. It has built-in modified strain gauge technology that measures forces exerted on the pedals during exercise and is supplied with angle detection. Independent measurements of forces in both left and right crank are possible. Measured forces are transmitted wirelessly to the PC by bluetooth.
