Alleyways Refurbishment Programme – Civils Contractor

<p>2.1 Liverpool Streetscene Services Limited (LSSL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liverpool City Council (LCC) and in March 2016 was formed to deliver several essential services across the city of Liverpool including refuse and recycling, street cleansing and parks, cemeteries and grounds maintenance. The company has an estimated annual turnover of around &pound;30 million. Liverpool has approximately 22,000 properties built adjacent to a 4ft (foot) wide alleyway which receive a weekly collection of bagged domestic waste from the rear alleyway. A further 38,000 terraced properties are located adjacent to a 9ft wide alleyways. Since 2018 the LCC/LSSL have led a programme to not only improve the alleyway infrastructure making it safer for both residents and staff, but also to introduce alternative waste collection methods in those areas with 4ft alleyways. The improvements in infrastructure and changes to using communal street collections have led to an improvement in conditions for the residents who live in these areas and contribute to them becoming thriving neighbourhoods. Prospective suppliers are invited to submit proposals for this contract to provide civil engineering works for the refurbishment of Alleyways as per specifications.</p> Keywords: Civils
