01960 - Provision of Furniture for the Women's National Facility

The SPS is in the process of opening a new facility within its estate which is unique and part of a transformational change in how Scotland cares for females in custody. The new Women’s National Facility will utilise a gender specific, trauma informed approach to help aid the reintegration of females within the SPS’ care. An essential part of this approach is the design and aesthetics of the Women’s National Facility, where a therapeutic environment will be created. The SPS requires a Supplier to supply a range of furniture items as part of a full kit out of the facility. SPS identified the Scotland Excel Framework for Supply, Delivery & Installation of Education & Office Furniture Lot 6 – Office Full Kit Out (Schedule 0620) as the best route to market. A number of key suppliers had already pre-qualified to be on the Framework so SPS could concentrate on the service delivery aspects of the project. All of the suppliers on the framework were contacted by PPSD in advance and this drew attention to the opportunity.
