<p>The provision of an effective internal audit service demands that internal auditors recognise the important role which they must perform in helping the organisation to be successful in controlling its business in an appropriate manner. The States of Jersey Internal Audit department (not Ministerial governed) provides an independent, objective review and advisory service to: - a) Provide assurance to the Treasurer of the States, the Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) that the States of Jersey&rsquo;s financial and operational controls designed to manage the organisations risks and achieve the entity&rsquo;s objectives, designed and operated in an efficient, effective and ethical manner, and b) Assist management in improving the entity&rsquo;s business performance The Internal Audit service is delivered by means of a co-sourced service led by the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA). The services of externally hired internal audit service providers and affiliates remain key to the successful delivery of the Internal Audit services to the States of Jersey.
