Tender description

The Military Archives is the statutory place of deposit for the records of the Defence Forces, Department of Defence and the Army Pensions Board, under the terms of the National Archives of Ireland Act, 1986. As well as state records, the Archives holds over a thousand private collections, over 300 oral history recordings, and many nationally significant items of material culture. The Military Archives provides a full-time, professional, public service as well as fulfilling a wide array of internal functions within the Defence Forces. From time to time, the services of contract archivists are required in order to catalogue material for public inspection and to work on specific projects. The purpose of this RFT is to identify a company who can provide these ad hoc services to us at our facility in Cathal Brugha Barracks, Rathmines. Lot 241134: establishment of a framework agreement to provide on-site, professional archival services, on an ad hoc basis, to the Military Archives. The Military Archives is seeking professional archival services from a suitable company, specifically consisting of: the removal from Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, via suitably secure means; the offsite archival cataloguing and physical arrangement at a suitably secure location; and delivery to the Military Archives, Cathal Brugha Barracks, Dublin, via suitably secure means, of historical personnel files.
