22017 For the Supply, Install and maintenance of Access Contract System

Tender description

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to appoint a new Contractor for the supply, install and maintenance of their County-wide Access control system. The plan is for the tender to be published in late August/early September 2022, and for the Contract to be awarded by late November 2022, to give a 3 month implementation period, and a 'go live'/commencement of contract date 3rd April 2023. It is anticipated that this shall be a long-term contract for eight (8) years, with the option of a further two (2) years. The Council currently operates a Closed protocol system supplied, installed and maintained by our incumbent, called Symmetry The system operates across 45 locations within the Cambridgeshire County boundary, centrally controlled and managed from the Council's Headquarters in Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon. The Council will be looking for bidders to present a robust and comprehensive solution whether adopting the current Closed protocol system, or offering to supply, and install a new system whether closed or open protocol, but fit for a County-wide operation and the ever changing demands on local services and the increases and decreased of the Council's property portfolio over the life of the contract.
