Tender description

Forestry England has a requirement for Natural Regeneration Services in the North England Forest District. This will include the following: - Clearance of natural regeneration; - Respacing of conifer crops; - Windblow clearance; - Roadside brashing and pruning; - Small scale felling; - Christmas tree halo thinning. Lot 1: Hamsterley This Lot includes the following operations in Hamsterley: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 2: Rothbury This Lot includes the following operations in Rothbury: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 3: Kielder East This Lot includes the following operations in Kielder East: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 4: Kielder North This Lot includes the following operations in Kielder North: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 5: Kielder West This Lot includes the following operations in Kielder West: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 6: Kielder South This Lot includes the following operations in Kielder South: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 7: Kershope and Spadeadam This Lot includes the following operations in Kershope and Spadeadam: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 8: Kielder Main Block CCF Areas This Lot includes the following operations in Kielder Main Block CCF Areas: •Clearance of natural regeneration •Respacing of conifer crops •Windblow clearance •Roadside brashing and pruning •Small scale felling Lot 9: Christmas Tree Halo Thinnings This Lot includes Christmas tree halo thinning operations across the whole framework geographic area. Lot 10: Contigency Unless requested otherwise, all bidders that are offered a place under Lots 1 - 9 will be added to Lot 10 - Contingency Lot. Where there is work that cannot be completed by 1st - 4th ranked contractors (Lots 1 - 8) or 1st & 2nd ranked contractors (Lot 9), or is particularly time sensitive, it will be offered under Lot 10 - Contingency Lot to all contractors via mini-competition.
