Long Covid Programme Resource And Evaluation

Long Covid has been linked to inflammation of the heart, abnormalities in lung function, neurological disturbances and psychological impacts such as depression and anxiety. Each individual with Long Covid will have a unique experience and may present with a range of symptoms and, as such, should be provided with person-centred support tailored to the individual. With the high number of cases across the East Riding, it can be expected that there will be an increased demand on the primary care network and NHS. In light of this, East Riding of Yorkshire Council will commission separately a 12-week Long Covid rehabilitation programme, with a blend of physical and emotional support. The programme will see individuals receive support at home, virtually for the first 6 weeks, and then in leisure/community services for weeks 7-12. We require an academic evaluation partner to work alongside our delivery to evaluate both the functionality of the programme and the health and wellbeing of participants on the programme. This is required as there is limited research regarding Long Covid recovery.
