Tender description

The UK Astronomy Technology Centre (UK ATC) is a laboratory within the Science & Technology Facilities Council which is part of UK Research & Innovation. The UK ATC has responsibility within the METIS project to design, build, test and deliver the LMS to our project partners NOVA in The Netherlands. Within the LMS there is, relevant to this document, a Zinc Selenide prism that is used to "pre-disperse" the science beam in a low resolution spectrometer to select a small range of wavelengths to be transmitted to the echelle grating in the main spectrometer optics. The work to produce the prism will be carried out in two phases. The first is to develop and demonstrate the anti-reflection coating. The second is to manufacture the prism and apply the developed anti-reflection coating.
