Tender description

The repair of an existing road bridge located on the L-6346-8, off the N68 between Lissycasey and Kilrush. ITW Co-Ordinates 519770E, 663013N. The bridge comprises a 2.7m single span composite concrete and steel deck on masonry abutments. The deck is 3.6m wide. The Works involve the replacement of the existing deck with a new reinforced concrete slab, including reinforced concrete edge beams to provide for an increased deck width. Existing masonry abutments will be strengthened by pressure grouting and extended with reinforced concrete columns on both ends to support the edge beams from the concrete deck. A reinforced concrete backing beam will also be provided behind both abutments. New 450mm thick stone masonry parapets will be provided on both sides of the carriageway with rubbing strips to the new road build-up.
