PROVISION OF EMISSIONS PROJECTIONS

Tender description

The Scottish Government’s Domestic Climate Change Division would like to appoint a supplier to provide a yearly estimate of Scotland’s business-as-usual emissions up to the Scottish Government’s targeted Net Zero date of 2045. The emissions projection will be used as a baseline for future climate change planning in the Division’s work to facilitate a fair and just transition to a low carbon, climate literate, climate ready Scotland. The aim of this research is to produce a yearly estimate of Scotland’s business-as-usual emissions up to the Scottish Government’s targeted Net Zero date of 2045, which can serve as a baseline for future climate change planning. The emissions projection should aim to assess the impacts of existing and committed government actions, in particular those outlined in the 2020 Climate Change Plan update, potential social shifts and anticipated economic change to produce a trajectory of emissions up to 2045, in aggregate and for each of the eight sectors used for Scotland’s climate change planning.
