Tender description
Tenders are sought for the supply, delivery & installation of an Inverted Fluorescent Microscope for the Emerging Pathogens laboratory at the Veterinary Sciences Centre, University College Dublin (UCD). The microscope is required for fluorescent imaging of live cells infected with Hazard Group 3 bacteria and viruses. The lab is a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) lab that is used to propagate a range of Hazard Group 3 viruses and bacteria, and genetically modified versions of these pathogens. The laboratory is maintained under negative, HEPA filtered air pressure, and access to the laboratory is restricted to authorised personnel. Should personnel be required to enter the laboratory for maintenance reasons, such as to carry out repairs on a piece of equipment, the laboratory is decontaminated in advance of the work and access is only permitted on completion of a Permit to Work, issued by the Manager of the laboratory.
