Tender description

The commission is to develop public realm proposals for the carriageway and footway areas at the entrance to Davies Lane School and the rear vehicular entrance from Mornington Road that provide benefits to the local community and in particular the school's pupils, parent and teachers. The scheme shall aim to create a new gateway environment to Wanstead Flats that provides improved walking and cycling accessibility and introducing new green and blue initiatives. The total area of the scheme = approx. 500m2. Core new public realm objectives include: • Address current carriageway alignment by prioritising space and movement for pedestrians and cyclists • Improved accessibility for active travel modes • New SuDS infrastructure • New greening including street trees shrubs and SuDS gardens • New wayfinding • Opportunities for seating and informal play • Improved cycle parking facilities • Address existing street clutter
