Tender description
To investigate exotic properties of quantum matter, extreme conditions including ultra-low temperature, ultra-low vibration, ultra-high magnetic field are requisite. Therefore, the two quantum microscopes for visualizing quantum matter under development at UCC each require a 14 Tesla, high-persistence, ultra-low vibration, superconductive solenoid, high magnetic field system that operates at temperatures of -276 C or 4K. America Magnetic is the only supplier in the world capable of fitting precisely to the specs, geometry and functionality of these two next-generation STMIV microscopes. The AMI superconductive solenoid system is contained within an ultra-low vibration liquid helium dewar. It can simultaneously maintain very low temperatures and ultra-high magnetic field (14 Tesla) for up to three weeks uninterrupted. These unique specifications are crucial to the planned research.
