Tender description

The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC, part of UK Research and Innovation) is a world-leading science organisation which works with a wide range of parties (universities, private sector and international research partners) to deliver a high standard of research. STFC are seeking to appoint a company to run the Occupational Health service for its sites in: •Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) site, near Didcot; •Daresbury Laboratory (DL) site, near Warrington; •Royal Observatory Edinburgh (ROE), in Edinburgh city; •Swindon offices (office estate only); and •Chilbolton Observatory, in Hampshire. Lot 1: The appointed company would be expected to deliver the following: a)Health surveillance programme b)Management referral programme c)Provision of wellbeing services d)Management of first aid provision on site e)Management information Further details on these areas can be found in Section VI.3. As part of the contract, one full-time member of staff is required to be based at the RAL site. This role will act as an administrator and co-ordinator for all aspects of the service at all STFC sites. There is an existing member of staff in this role, therefore TUPE rules will apply. Occupational Health Department offices/clinics are present in the RAL and DL sites with all necessary equipment provided. It is expected that the contracted supplier will provide both the service and equipment required at other sites, e.g. through use of a mobile service.
