SUPPLY OF DEFIBRILATORS & COMPONENTS INCLUDING MAINTENANCE SERVICE

Tender description

This is a call to competition by IE for the procurement of D (the “Contract”). Iarnrod Eireann (IE) Irish Rail has a requirement for Supply of Defibrillators and Defibrillator components including Maintenance Service for the next 36 months with an option for an extension for further 24 months on 12 months by 12 months basis. Sudden Cardiac Arrest can affect people of all ages and its rapid onslaught is impossible to predict but recovery is possible if a defibrillator and trainer user are nearby. Time to defibrillation is the most critical factor in survival of sudden cardiac arrest. If an AED is on site within two minutes there is an 80% chance that the victim will survive. Every minute that passes before defibrillation the survival rate reduces by 10%.AEDs are now in use in public places such as airports and shopping centres. The fundamental use of an AED is straight forward and easy to operate by any personnel with little or no experience. Recently designed AEDs are lightweight and instructions are simple and easy to follow even in the event of a cardiac arrest. Iarnrod Eireann are looking to procure Samaritan 350P Defibrillator & parts for it - or its equivalent, to cover all Irish Rail’s locations including stations nationwide. The extent and details of IÉ’s requirements will vary from location to location. The requirements will vary, at times there will be a need for defibrillator, another time maintenance or supply of pads or/ and other components.
