MSS/041 Maritime Spares Furniture and Furnishings

Tender description

The Maritime Spares Delivery Team (MSDT), part of the UK Ministry of Defence (the “Authority”), intends to extend its current Contract MSS/041 with Varivane Industries Limited for the Supply and Support of Furniture, Furnishings & Mattresses exclusively for use on board Ships and Submarines via the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice by a period of eighteen (18) months (starting from August 2022). It is considered that the Authority can extend the Contract using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice in accordance with Regulation 16(1)(a)(ii), DSPCR 2011 for Technical reasons. The Authority does not have access to the proprietary information, technical drawings and specifications for the articles necessary to carry out or compete this requirement. Neither has Varivane Industries Limited licensed out any of the necessary information to a third party. The incumbent supplier is the only economic operator that has the specific know-how, tools and means (access to drawings) to provide this requirement.
