Provision of Supported Living for People with a Learning Disability, Mental Health Problem, Autism or a Physical/Sensory Impairment

Westmorland & Furness Council are aiming to support the provider market to develop the Supported Living requirements to meet the changing needs of the Cumbrian population. We are seeking providers who are able to meet the eligible needs and, where appropriate, accommodation needs of citizens of Cumbria with: 1. a learning disability 2. a mental health problem 3. autism 4. a physical and/or sensory impairment. In accordance with Regulation 74 of the Public Contract Regulations 2015, Cumbria County Council established this framework. As a result of Local Government Reorganisation in Cumbria, pursuant to the Cumbria (Structural Changes) Order 2022, on 01 April 2023, Cumbria County Council was abolished and replaced by two new Unitary Authorities: Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council. To ensure the continuity of the Supported Living Services during the transition to the new authorities, the decision was taken for Westmorland & Furness Council to host the Supported Living Framework from 01 April 2023. As statutory successors of Cumbria County Council, Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council, are both eligible to use this contract.
